Spiderveins are small enlarged and with blood filled veins, which are located directly under the skin. From the outside they look like light little red vessels, which spread like a network of streams, and they are a mere cosmetic problem.
Spiderveins can appear on every part of the skin, but are mainly seen on ankles, hollow of the knee, thighs and the inside of calves.
This type of vessel change can appear at every age. Men and women are equally effected.
Spiderveins can multiply through the weakness of the connective tissue or through a vein problem and be a sign of varicose veins and vein drain blockage.
Problems with veins should therefore be identified via ultrasound, before starting a treatment for spiderveins. If varicose veins or a different vein problems are diagnosed, this should be treated first.

The number of treatments depend on the shape and depth of the vessel lesions. The approximately 30 minute treatment should be repeated four to six times in four to five weeks intervals.
